Music that’s too loud causes hearing damage

It’s not really new for us, nightclubs turn up the music so loud that it can cause hearing damage. A study of the Dublin Institute of Technology learns, that the sound levels of night clus vary between 89dB and 97dB. To compare: To expose the ears to sound of 92dB is equal to listening to a smoke alarm for over 32 hours.

Owners of nightclubs are appealed to reduce the level of music. According to work safety laws, employees should use hearing protection when they work in noise over 85dB.
